Kopa Loans: cash for kopas, repaid from your allowee
A kopa loan is a loan for serving NYSC corps members — "kopa" is simply how corps members say it. Eligibility comes from your NYSC ID and monthly allowance (allowee), repayment is spread across your remaining service months, and no collateral or guarantor is needed.

What is a kopa loan?
Kopa loan, corper loan, NYSC loan — different names, same idea: credit for corps members currently in service, backed by the monthly federal allowance every kopa receives. Because that allowee arrives predictably each month, lenders can approve you without payslips, collateral or a guarantor, even if service year is your first income.
Kopas typically borrow to cover the expensive start of service year — transport to camp and PPA, rent and agent fees, a phone or laptop for work — or to fund a side hustle before POP. Whatever the use, the full cost and schedule are shown before you accept anything.
How repayment from your allowee works
Your loan is split into equal monthly instalments that end on or before your passing-out date. Each instalment is collected automatically when your allowance is paid — via a Remita deduction at source where available, or a direct debit on the account your allowee enters. Instalments are capped at a share of the allowance so you always keep most of it.
Rates and maximum amounts vary by lender — [e.g. from X% monthly — confirm real rate]. Use the loan calculator to preview what a given amount costs per month before you apply.

Kopa Loans FAQs
Is a kopa loan different from a corper loan?
No — they are the same product under different names. "Kopa" is the everyday way corps members say corper. Eligibility, documents and repayment work identically.
Can I apply while still in camp?
You can usually apply once your first allowance has been paid, since lenders verify the allowee credit in your account. [Confirm exact policy.]
What happens at POP if I still owe?
Tenures are set to finish on or before your passing-out date, so this normally cannot happen. If service is extended or interrupted, contact support to restructure.
Do I need a guarantor?
No. Your verified NYSC status and allowance stand in place of collateral and guarantors.
